The website design process is different for every project and my highest priority is your satisfaction. We will work closely together to ensure that the end result fits your needs and is exactly what you had envisioned.
In general, the web design process goes along these lines:
Initial Web Design Analysis
The first step of the process is all about communication. Because each website I create is unique and tailored to my individual client’s needs, this initial step is crucial. I take the time to get to know you and to understand your industry and your approach with your target market.
We will discuss your goals for your website both in terms of aesthetics and functionality and we will determine the needs of your visitors.
Once I have a firm grip on what you want your site to do for you and for your customers, I put together a Project Proposal that will outline the size, functionality, time frame, and cost of the project.
If you decide that we’re a good fit, we then move on to the Design Phase.
Design Phase:
In order for you to be ecstatic about your site, it needs to reflect your image as well as serve your needs. We’ll look at what you like, what your style and graphic requirements are, and what makes sense to you in terms of the architecture of the site.
I will propose different options (3 to 5 usually) so you can find one that appeals to you. We will discuss integration of your logo, headers, images you want on your site, social media buttons, etc.
If you indicated in our initial communication that SEO was a top priority, I will do a market analysis for your industry and share my findings.
Pre-building phase:
This is the part where if you have not purchased a domain name, you will need to do so. If you’re uneasy about that, I’m happy help you.
If you have a domain already, you will need to add hosting* so I can install WordPress on your site.

Building phase
As I create your site, I will continue to communicate with you so that you can give me your feedback and make modifications along the way if you’d like. This is the fun part and I can involve you as much or as little as you wish.
Once we near completion, I will present the site to you for your review so you can make final revisions and test drive your website.
Launch Day
As soon as you are thrilled with the site, we launch it!
Of course, if you feel that a couple things need to be tweaked within the first few days, I’m always happy to make small modifications.
As a follow up, I provide you (or your staff) with the necessary training to access your site, update it and maintain it yourself.
(*side note: although GoDaddy is great for domain registration, they are not known for doing very well in hosting WordPress sites. BlueHost makes a much better choice –I do not get a kickback as I don’t use affiliate links)
